Executive Director & Founder
Nathan Leach Executive Director and founder of Nonpartisan Nebraska. As a registered Independent, he champions nonpartisan governance and reforms. A Kearney native and fifth generation Nebraskan, Nathan graduated from Kearney High School in 2015. He began his professional journey as a legislative intern for the Buffalo County Community Partners in Kearney, NE in 2015 before working as a legislative page in the Arizona State Senate in 2016. Nathan went on to join a South Dakota ballot initiative for nonpartisan elections before enlisting in the Nebraska Army National Guard as a Paralegal Specialist in December of 2016, and receiving a medical discharged in March of 2020. Nathan most recently worked as a Voting Rights Field Organizer for Civic Nebraska, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated in creating a more modern and robust democracy for all Nebraskans.
Currently, Nathan serves on the board of directors for the George Norris Institute based in McCook, NE and has been a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since his sophomore year in high school. In addition to his passion for nonpartisanship, Nathan enjoys watching the Unicameral while in session, playing chess, and listening to audiobooks. He is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, mental health and suicide awareness, hands-on civic education, and student speech protections.
