Nathan Leach

Executive Director & Founder

Nathan Leach is the founding executive director of Nonpartisan Nebraska, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the nonpartisan structure of the Nebraska Legislature. Nathan is a self-taught legislative parliamentarian and has been a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since 2013. Nathan has served as member of the Board of Directors for the McCook-based Norris Institute since 2022.
 

Nathan has a strong history of advocating for LGBTQ rights and recognition, specifically in his hometown of Kearney, Nebraska. Nathan promotes hands-on civic education as well as the need for student speech protections (particularly for student journalists and leaders) hoping to ensure that the next generation of political leaders are well-equipped to lead in an increasingly polarized world. Nathan promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention by sharing his personal story and challenges living with bipolar disorder.


Other areas of experience include: Basic and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in the U.S. Army to serve as a 27-D Paralegal Specialist in the Nebraska Army National Guard; Work as a Page in the Arizona State Senate in Phoenix in 2016; Experience with manual labor (specifically masonry construction); and has extensive experience working with and around the Nebraska Legislature, beginning his involvement as a sophomore in High School in 2013.
